    2. Greg: Question was raised whether there are enough mentors in the community
    3. Doris questions regarding specific courses that should be included – 609, and 714 specifically.
    4. Doris: Concerns were raised about when faculty voted on the proposal and whether this proposal was indeed what was voted on
    5. Christine: Sports Mngt was in Hospitality in 2008, what is the big hurry to push this through? Seems faculty are not in agreement
    6. Greg: Comments was given about when faculty votes in regards to pre-proposal and actual proposal.
    7. Motion to send back to faculty to resolve the discrepancies of curriculum: Vote: 13-0 in favor. Motion passes

3. - Corrected clerical error from original program implementation (2017-18), adjusting the following items to admissions requirements displayed:
4. 1. Students must have at least a Masters degree.
5. 2. Students must submit three letters of reference.
6. 3. Students must submit a resume and should have at least five years of
7. professional work related experience.
8. 4. An essay explaining student’s interest in the degree and how they believe the
9. degree will aid in their professional development. In addition, the letter must
10. articulate a policy area that the student has a substantive interest in studying. The letter must accompany the application. (An interview may be requested before a
11. final admissions decision is made).
12. 5. At least one graduate level research and/or statistics course (if the student
13. has not had a course in either of these two areas, they may be eligible to remedy
14. these deficiencies through a conditional admission).

Nancy presented the history of the proposal and its timing

Discusses that diversity is woven throughout the program and not just in a course

Question from Christine, is this focused on coaches only?

Response: no, it is an aspect only

Question from Doris: Why not include a specific course on diversity

Response> it was decided to not have a focus-only course and to do it throughout the curriculum

Greg: Discussion from last mtg was about whether faculty voted on this proposal as in curriculog, or something else

Response: it is slightly different, there are some changes that were done in working with Gail to change ideas/phrasing for the board alone – no Curriculum changes

Christine: Why not have a foundational course and also interweaven throughout

Response: Confused as to why this committee is looking so specifically at the curriculum, that should be the faculty teaching it

Christine: this committee has reviewed proposals like this before

Greg: concurring, this is the role of the committee

Response: Some amount of frustration due to concerns being raised by a member of her dept that also sits on this committee

Motion passes with complete support: 15-0.
