I think it needs to be documented how current and new students will be handled.
Will current students (admitted fall 2016 or before) be given the option of graduating with the new name? If so, we will need in writing, the students' choice.
If existing students (admitted prior to spring 2017) are given a choice, and decide they want the MFT named degree, will there be a deadline for them to graduate?
